FPGA Hackathon
13 July 2026
Beginning of July 2026, about 20 participants met at CERN for three days to work on trigger and foundation model developments. Implementations of transformers, deep neural networks, and recurrent architectures on FPGAs were prototyped, along with the setup of a data challenge that will be released in the coming months. The event contributed to the democratization of skills and tools needed for FPGA development, with attendants not only from high-energy physics but also from Computer Science and AI security. Thanks to all the attendees and planners involved in the event!
