Dr. Deepu John is an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin, Ireland. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2014. He previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Bio-Electronics Lab, NUS, and as a Senior Engineer at Sanyo Semiconductors, Japan. He has received several awards, including the IEEE TBioCAS Best Paper Award (2024), IEEE Future Intelligent Circuits and Systems Best Poster Award (2022), IEEE A-SSCC Best Design Award (2013), the Institution of Engineers Singapore Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award, and the IEEE Young Professionals Region 10 Individual Award. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I, and Wiley International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications. His research interests include edge computing, IoT and wearable sensing, and he is a senior member of the IEEE.
